Grand Rapids Area Soccer Club · Fall 6v6

Where Your Team Plays

Every Fall 6v6 team, on the field they are using, at West Rapids Elementary. Pick a date and time, then find your team.

Before you come

Shin guards every time — practices too. No shin guards, no play. Rubber cleats are best; running shoes are fine. No steel cleats.

Send a water bottle. In October, add a hat, sweats and mittens — we play in the cold.

Parking

There are two lots at West Rapids. Please use both. On a busy Sunday we have several games running at once, and spreading out keeps drop-off and pickup safe.

If the weather turns

The Crossbar app is the fastest way to hear about a cancellation. Turn on notifications and check it before you leave the house. We send email too.

How to use this

Find your time slot, then find your field number on the map. The number on the box is the same number your schedule shows — field 1 is the NW big field, field 11 is the SE small field, and so on, exactly as on the club field map.

The season

Practices are Mondays
September 14, 21 and 28, then October 5, 12 and 19. In September, U6 and U8 go at 5:00 and U10 at 6:00. From October on, everything moves an hour earlier.
Games are Sundays
September 20 and 27, then October 4, 11 and 25. In September, U6 at 4:00, U8 at 5:00, U10 at 6:00. In October, U6 at 3:00, U8 at 4:00, U10 at 5:00. No soccer on October 18 for MEA break.
Why October moves earlier
There are no lights at West Rapids and we lose daylight fast. The earlier start keeps kids safe on the field and in the parking lot.
What your child wears
The team listed first wears their orange GRASC jersey. The team listed second pulls a pinnie over whatever they have on — we provide those, and they stretch over jackets in cold weather.
One referee per game
Each game has a single referee and no linesmen, and many of ours are youth referees — some are 13 and 14 years old. They will miss things; everyone does. Please cheer for them out loud and leave the calls alone.
Two teams on one field
At Monday practice you will sometimes see two teams sharing a space. That is on purpose — there is room, and it keeps everyone on the grass at the same time.
